 Food Control unit under the Environmental health Department   Seizes Expired Items from Sweetest Supermarket, Admiralty Way, Lekki, Lagos

In a proactive measure to safeguard public health and ensure adherence to food safety standards, the Food Control unit under the Environmental health Department  took swift action today by seizing expired items from Sweetest Supermarket located at Admiralty Way, Lekki, Lagos.

The operation, conducted by the  environmental Team of Eti-osa local Govt, uncovered a range of expired products that were being offered for sale to unsuspecting customers. This intervention underscores the critical importance of vigilance in checking the expiry dates of items before purchase.

The Department reminds consumers to always scrutinize product labels for expiry dates, as expired goods can pose serious health risks. By staying informed and exercising caution, individuals can contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy community.

“We are committed to upholding food safety standards and protecting the well-being of our citizens,” stated SAN (Mrs Gbemisola Adegunju) Director of the Environment and Food Monitoring Department. “This operation is part of our ongoing efforts to ensure that only fresh and safe products are available to the public.”
