As the rainy season approaches, the Executive Chairman of Eti-Osa Local Government, Hon. Saheed Adesegun Bankole, has launched an extensive desilting campaign aimed at ensuring optimal drainage functionality across the local government area.

Recognizing the importance of proactive measures in averting flooding and ensuring the safety and well-being of residents, Chairman Bankole has prioritized the desilting of drains and canals throughout Eti-Osa. This initiative is part of the local government’s ongoing commitment to infrastructure maintenance and community welfare.

The desilting campaign commenced with targeted efforts along Amadasun Street via SPG Area in Igbo-Efon and South Rogersville Estate Street in Igbo-Efon Area.

These strategic locations were chosen to address specific drainage challenges and to safeguard residents from potential flooding incidents.

Chairman Bankole emphasized that this desilting exercise is not just a one-time effort but a continuous process. He reaffirmed the local government’s dedication to ensuring that no drainage system is neglected or overlooked within Eti-Osa.

Residents are urged to support and cooperate with the local government’s initiatives by maintaining proper waste disposal practices and refraining from activities that could obstruct drainage systems.
